MY OWN LIGHT BULB MOMENT
I love this work! It’s the thing that gives my life meaning. This has been the case ever since I had my own “light bulb moment” in 2004. Something inside me shifted – a profound realisation or awakening that I was part of something much greater than myself. After this, I realised that my life would never be the same again – and it wasn’t. I began to follow my heart much more than I had ever done previously. I developed a keen interest in psychology, philosophy, and spirituality. This drove me to study extremely hard – especially within the personal growth workshop environment – which I have spent the last 10-15 years or so delving into – subjects ranging from conscious sexuality and Tantra, to psychology and philosophy.
I have two degrees, one in Medicine and a first in Parasitology. I have worked as a hospital doctor in the UK and Australia for 6 years. I then worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a physician for 5 years, before starting my own company in 2013. I have been running a very successful pharmaceutical consultancy business since then. (Here’s a link to my professional profile).
I am a singer-songwriter and guitarist (here’s a link to my music), and my current love is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – I am a blue belt under Roger Gracie.
In April 2019, I completed my training “Working with People – A Psychology of Awakening” to become a Holistic Counsellor. This training included 250 hours of: Theory and Practice of the Fundamentals of Coaching, the Embodiment of Presence and Essential States, skillful assistance of Inquiry, Supervision and the Integration of Mindfulness and Meditation into the Holistic Counseling Practice. I talk about this more here.
I have spent the last year working as Lead Facilitator, Advisor and Trainer for menscircle.club – a non-profit, community-based project for men. You can read more about this here.
I have been running men’s circles and women’s circles for the since 2016. Here is a link to an article about my men’s circles from the BBC.
This passion for personal growth and inquiry led me to look at parts of my own shadow – which has been a painful and difficult process at times, but has always been incredibly insightful and rewarding. The more awareness I have about myself, the more freedom I create in my life. Through my own journey of self-discovery, I have managed to positively transform many aspects of my life and my relationships. It is a constant life-long practice.
One of the most important reasons for my own transformation, has been my group work with men and women. Being able to share my deepest, darkest secrets with my brothers and sisters in a safe and supportive environment, and being able to hold space and support them, has been very healing for me. It has taught me the immense value of this work. This has ignited my passion for coaching and shown me that my deepest gift to the world is to share this knowledge with you.
I hope you will allow me to accompany you on your journey of self-discovery…
